Data breach at French hospital exposes records of 750,000 patients. A cyberattack on an unnamed French hospital has compromised the medical records of approximately 750,000 patients, with the hacker claiming access to over 1.5 million records across multiple healthcare facilities. The breach involved the MediBoard system, managed by Softway Medical Group, which stated that the incident was due to stolen credentials rather than a software flaw. The hacker, known as ‘nears’, is reportedly selling access to sensitive healthcare information, including personal details and medical histories. The affected hospitals are part of Aléo Santé, which allowed the attacker to exploit a single compromised account. The exposed data poses significant risks for phishing and social engineering attacks against the individuals involved.
