CISA Identifies Vulnerabilities in PTZ Camera Models

/ 1 min read

Critical vulnerabilities in PTZ cameras identified by CISA. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has added two significant vulnerabilities affecting PTZOptics PT30X-SDI and PT30X-NDI-xx-G2 camera models to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog. These flaws, CVE-2024-8956 (authentication bypass) and CVE-2024-8957 (OS command injection), pose serious risks, allowing attackers to gain unauthorized access and execute arbitrary commands. Organizations using these cameras are urged to upgrade to version 6.3.40 or later to mitigate potential security breaches. The vulnerabilities underscore the need for robust security measures in embedded devices commonly used in surveillance and monitoring.
