Georgia’s Memorial Hospital and Manor targeted by ransomware group Embargo. The Embargo group has threatened to publish 1.15 terabytes of data stolen from the hospital unless a ransom is paid by Tuesday. The attack, which locked down the hospital’s IT systems, was detected on November 1, impacting access to electronic health records and email. Embargo, which emerged earlier this year, employs double extortion tactics and has been linked to other victims across the U.S., Australia, and Europe, raising concerns about the growing sophistication of ransomware threats in the healthcare sector.
