Finastra investigates significant data breach. The financial technology firm Finastra is currently looking into a major security incident involving the alleged theft of over 400 gigabytes of data from its internal file transfer platform. The company, which serves 45 of the world’s top 50 banks, notified clients after a cybercriminal began selling the stolen data on the dark web. Finastra’s security team detected suspicious activity on November 7, and while they confirmed that no malware was deployed or customer files tampered with, they acknowledged that some customer data was exfiltrated. The firm is working to determine the scope of the breach and has implemented an alternative secure file sharing platform to ensure continuity for its clients.
