Python Script Enables AnyDesk Installation for Remote Access
/ 1 min read
🕵️♂️ New Python Script Discovered for Installing AnyDesk as a Remote Access Tool. A recently uncovered Python script, named “an5.py,” facilitates the installation of AnyDesk on victim computers, allowing attackers to gain remote access and exfiltrate data. The script is compatible with both Windows and Linux systems and can reconfigure AnyDesk if it is already installed. It modifies the configuration to enable unattended access, ensuring that the attacker can control the system without user intervention. The command and control (C2) server associated with the script was found to be down at the time of discovery. This highlights the dual-use nature of remote access tools, which can serve legitimate administrative purposes as well as malicious intents.
