A recent analysis of three mini smartphones marketed to children revealed significant security vulnerabilities, including outdated operating systems and pre-installed malware. The devices, sold for £40-£60, can be easily rooted, allowing unauthorized access to personal data. One model, the SOYES S7, showed signs of the Domino malware, while another, the ZOKOE XS13, featured an app capable of altering the device’s IMEI, raising serious security and legal concerns. These findings highlight the risks associated with low-cost smartphones and emphasize the importance of purchasing devices from reputable manufacturers to ensure children’s safety online.
