Fuzzware.io led the event, earning $50,000 for hacking the Autel MaxiCharger and Phoenix Contact CHARX SEC-3150 chargers. Other notable participants included Sina Kheirkhah, who collected $91,750, and the Synacktiv Team, which earned $57,500. The competition, running from January 22 to 24, allows researchers to target automotive technologies, with vendors given 90 days to patch reported vulnerabilities before public disclosure. Last year’s event saw hackers earn over $1.3 million, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the automotive sector.
