Study Proposes Secure Platform for Health Data Analysis

/ 1 min read

🧬 New study proposes a secure platform for distributed health data analysis. The SARDIN project aims to create the Health Data Bank, a secure research platform that adheres to European Health Data Space regulations by minimizing personal data sharing and storage. Instead of centralizing data, the platform processes analysis tasks at their original locations, raising important questions about data controller responsibilities and anonymization of results. The study investigates federated analysis, secure multi-party aggregation, and differential privacy, drawing on examples from clinical research. Preliminary numerical experiments with open-source datasets indicate that combining differential privacy with secure aggregation techniques enhances the privacy-utility trade-off, supporting the feasibility of the proposed sandbox study.
