GPU Implementations Improve Key Switching for Fully Homomorphic Encryption

/ 1 min read

🔑💻 New GPU Implementations Enhance Key Switching for Fully Homomorphic Encryption. Researchers Ali Şah Özcan and Erkay Savaş have developed GPU implementations of three key switching methods crucial for Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), specifically for leveled CKKS schemes. This study marks the first comprehensive GPU implementation of these methods, utilizing the latest number-theoretic transform (NTT) for performance evaluation across BFV and CKKS schemes. The results demonstrate a significant execution time improvement of up to 380 times compared to the Microsoft SEAL Library. The findings also address the advantages and limitations of each method, emphasizing their relevance to time-intensive operations like relinearization and rotation, which are vital in bootstrapping algorithms for various FHE schemes.
