🌍✨ AWS to Enhance Security Token Service Global Endpoint for Improved Performance. AWS announced upcoming changes to the Security Token Service (STS) global endpoint, set to take effect in early 2025, which will allow requests to be served from the same region as the deployed workloads, enhancing performance and resiliency. Currently, all requests are processed by the US East (N. Virginia) Region, but the new system will automatically direct requests to local regions, starting with Europe (Stockholm). AWS recommends that users switch to STS Regional endpoints whenever possible to maximize benefits. Additionally, AWS CloudTrail logs will continue to track requests, ensuring transparency and clarity regarding endpoint usage. Users are encouraged to review their configurations to optimize their applications.
