🔌✨ Federated Learning Enhances Cyberattack Detection for EV Charging Stations. The rise of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, while essential for transportation electrification, poses significant cyber-physical and privacy risks due to vulnerabilities in communication protocols like the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) 1.6. This paper advocates for the use of Federated Learning (FL) to improve intrusion detection by leveraging diverse Internet of Things data sources while maintaining data privacy. Evaluation results indicate that the FL-based approach demonstrates high effectiveness in detecting cyberattacks targeting EV charging infrastructure, marking a promising advancement in securing this critical technology.
