🚗💨 Lightweight Authentication Enhances Task Offloading in 6G Vehicular Networks. A new framework integrating lightweight Identity-Based Cryptographic (IBC) authentication into task offloading for cloud-based 6G Vehicular Twin Networks (VTNs) has been proposed to improve network efficiency. The study employs Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) in Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) to optimize offloading decisions, aiming to reduce latency and enhance resource allocation. However, the research indicates that IBC authentication can decrease offloading efficiency by up to 50% due to overhead, with larger network and task sizes exacerbating this issue. Conversely, increasing transmission data rates can boost offloading performance by up to 63%, mitigating the impact of authentication overhead. The code for the simulations is available on GitHub for further exploration.
