New Mechanism for Resource Management in Cloud Datacenters

As organizations increasingly adopt cloud computing, security challenges related to multitenancy and virtualization pose significant risks, particularly concerning data leakage among untrusted tenants. To mitigate these risks, researchers have developed a risk-aware, sensitive property-driven virtual resource assignment mechanism that utilizes KL-divergence and mutual information to assess sensitive properties within datasets. The problem is framed as a cost-driven optimization challenge, which is NP-complete, leading to the introduction of two heuristic solutions. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach in managing resources in cloud datacenters with varying sensitivity levels, aiming to enhance security while maintaining efficiency.
