A ransomware attack in November 2024 led to the theft of personal and health information from Memorial Hospital and Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia. The Embargo ransomware group claimed responsibility, stealing 1.15 terabytes of data, including names, Social Security numbers, and medical histories, which are now publicly available on their leak site. Although the hospital’s operations continued without interruption, patients experienced longer wait times due to a shift to manual record-keeping. Memorial is notifying affected individuals and offering 12 months of free identity protection and credit monitoring services, while stating there is currently no evidence of misuse of the stolen information.
